We put our children at the heart of everything we do. We want them all to be happy at school and feel safe and secure. We want them to be confident and independent. Meridian is a small school and we know all our families. Parents are a big part of school life and are very welcome.
We are ambitious for all our children and want them to make great progress and achieve well by the end of Year 6. We want all children to be the best they can be whatever their starting points. We are a collaborative learning community—so we value and seek on-going learning opportunities for the grown-ups in our community too.
Every child is valued and welcome at our school. We have high expectations of all children whatever their circumstances and abilities and strive to personalise learning so that children are supported and challenged appropriately.
Like Greenwich, Meridian is packed with people from different cultures, abilities and backgrounds. About a quarter of our children speak a different language. We really value this rich diversity. We celebrate our differences and similarities and treat everyone with respect.
We want our children to love learning! Everyone is different and everyone has their own special talents—we want to help each child to find his/hers! The great spaces, museums and galleries of Greenwich and London are used as much as possible and we try to make learning fun and purposeful. We work hard to offer extra Art, Music and Sports opportunities and prepare children for a changing world!
