2011 - Talking Thames

Our famous neighbour was the inspiration for the 2011 Art & Writing Festival. All children got the chance to explore the foreshore of the Thames in Greenwich to find objects from London's past which were used to generate ideas for their stories. Each class took a trip on the Thames Clipper to central London where they were able to sketch the river, looking at its many colours and textures.

A visiting storyteller, June offered her tips on how to get our stories across in a creative way (we are all expert in presenting Ten Second Tales now) and our Artist in Residence, Annalisa made watercolours look so easy that we all picked up some new skills and techniques.

Thanks to everyone who came to the whole school exhibition, visited the class displays and who enjoyed reading the many books which brought the river to life. See the 2011 highlights below:
