The 2006 theme was "Wildlife from around our World" and we all designed and produced our own large fabric panels and each class created their own anthology of poems.
We researched animals from different parts of the world - mammals, fish, birds, reptiles, mini-beasts - representing the different cultures and countries Meridian pupils come from.
Classes visited London Zoo and made sketches, took photos and notes about the different shapes, patterns, colours of animals which they used in their textile design. The Animal Man visited the younger pupils with his menagerie of creatures. The famous poet, John Hegley came to visit us and we all took part in music and dance workshops.
After 3 weeks of hard work, each class entertained parents and friends at the Summer Fair with a performance of their poetry including music and dance. Everyone was also proud to parade their fabric panels.
Here are some of the highlights!
