What is a Local Offer?
The Children and Families Bill says that every local council in England must write down what help there is in their area for children and young people with special educational needs or who have a disability (SEND). This is for everyone to read, and is called the Local Offer.
The Local Offer describes the help you could get with these things:
* Social care services
* Travelling to school or college
* Training for work
* Young people becoming adults and starting to live on their own
* Children and young people from the area who are studying somewhere else
Greenwich is a Pathfinder Borough which has committed to developing the Local Offer and other aspects of Special Educational Needs reform and we at Meridian School have produced a Local Offer to summarise how we support children with SEND in our school.
Meridian’s Local Offer shows which staff members support children with SEND and how to contact them, and how our school systems support children with SEND, including our links with other professionals.
Please click on the link below for details of Meridian's Local Offer or download a PDF version of our Local Offer and SEND Report here.
Alternatively, you can get a copy of our Local Offer & SEND Report from the school office.
