Meridian's Museum Club

This year we have been working with the National Maritime Museum to pilot a new weekly club - Museum Club. Since September, paired year groups have been taking part, working with different practitioners on their own creative responses to the Museum collections.

Children from Years 5 and 6 worked with animator Sophie Lodge to turn the Museum’s ‘Neptune Court’ gallery into a magical underwater world. The children explored the gallery and took photographs and film of their favourite objects. They used stop-frame animation techniques to bring their own plasticine creatures to life to talk about their ideas. The Sea is History is a really clever piece of film and is there for all to admire on the NMM website.

Well done to all the children involved and thanks to Carmo, Maureen and parent volunteer, Rana for helping to make this happen.
