Collective Worship
Daily Assemblies for each Key Stage (currently Monday to Thursday at the end of each morning) are used to create an experience, which promotes thought and reflection, and one which gives a spiritual dimension to children's experience of school.
At assembly times, staff present stories or tales related to our half termly SEAL (Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) theme such as New Beginnings or Going for Goals, celebrate a major religious/cultural festival such as Diwali, Eid and Harvest or mark a significant date or event such as Remembrance Day. At the end of these assemblies children are encouraged to close their eyes to reflect on the given theme and to pray if they wish, thus embodying the ethos of daily collective worship in a non-denominational fashion.
Whole School Assembly
At the end of the school week on Friday, a whole school assembly is presented by the children on a rota basis, at which the school community acknowledges academic, individual, musical and dramatic achievement. This is also an opportunity to celebrate the weekly coming together of the whole school community.
